With my 30 years of professional experience in cataract surgery, special intraocular lenses and corneal diseases and surgery, I have been accepting my patients in my office in Maidan Business Center as of February 2020. Our clinic has all the necessary medical devices for detailed eye examination and advanced evaluation and all examinations and examinations.

I graduated from Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1983. I completed my Ophthalmology specialist training in the Department of Ophthalmology of the same faculty between 1985-1990. I worked for one year in the Cornea Department of Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, England between 1988-1989. After my specialization, I received advanced specialist training in immunological diseases of the eye and uveitis at the Johns Hopkins University Wilmer Eye Institute, Department of Cornea and Refractive Surgery in the USA between 1991-1992 and at the Harvard University, Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary between 1992-1993. I worked at the Ankara Education and Research Hospital, Department of Cornea between 1990-1997. I became an associate professor of Ophthalmology in 1994. I served as a faculty member at the Department of Ophthalmology, Başkent University, Faculty of Medicine from 1997 to 2012. I received the title of professor in 2000. I served as the Head of the Department of Ophthalmology at the same institution between 2003-2011. I received the TÜBİTAK Postdoctoral Fellowship Abroad in 1991-1992, the Eczacıbaşı Research Award in 1995, and the "Achievement Award" of the American Academy of Ophthalmology in 2011. I participated in the European Ophthalmology Board exams as an "examiner" between 2012-2015, and received the title of Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology (FEBO) in 2015.

I am currently an active member of the Turkish Ophthalmology Association Cataract and Refractive Surgery Unit, Cornea and Ocular Surface, and Uvea and Behçet's Disease Units.

Abroad, I am a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), American Academy of Ophthalmology, Eucornea, International Uveitis Study Group, International Ocular Inflammation Society, American Uveitis Society, The Foster Ocular Immunology Society.

I have over 170 publications published in international eye journals and over 200 publications published in Turkish refereed journals. My articles published in international journals have been cited 3400 times. I have given over 250 presentations in international meetings and over 30 conference and panel talks. I have edited all three editions of the Basic Ophthalmology book, a comprehensive eye diseases book written in Turkish. I have also edited 12 book chapters and 9 English books. I am on the editorial board of the Turkish Ophthalmology Journal. I serve as a referee in 12 international journals published in the field of Ophthalmology.

My areas of expertise are Cornea and Ocular Surface Diseases, Cataract, Glaucoma, Refractive Surgery, Dry Eye, Keratoconus, Immunological Diseases of the Eye, Uveitis and Behçet's Disease. My surgical experience includes >15,000 cataract surgeries (including those performed with multifocal and toric intraocular lenses), femtosecond-assisted cataract surgeries, >1000 keratoplasty (corneal transplant surgeries), difficult glaucoma surgeries, cross-link therapy for keratoconus, limbal transplants, and glue-assisted pterygium surgeries.
